A. Yes. While Truderma lasts for 2 months at a time, we do offer discounts when you purchase 3 kits at once. To do this now, click here. Your discount will be automatically applied.

A. Orders are sent out every business day and are tracked electronically. You do not have to be home to sign for your order, and your order will arrive right in your mailbox.

Q. I am concerned about internet security. What do you do to address my concerns?

A. Every order is encrypted with industry standard 128 bit SSL encryption from your computer all the way to our servers. Orders are processed through Verisign.

Q. How do you ship Truderma? I would prefer it be shipped discretely, can you do that?

A. Yes. We realize that some of our customers would prefer not to advertise their purchases to their neighbors or postal workers. In fact, every order of Truderma is shipped discretely and without any identification marks on the package aside from the name of our company, DTC Health, Inc. If you are purchasing by credit card, your order will be billed by DTC Health, Inc.

Q. Do you offer expedited shipping? If so, what does it cost?

A. Yes we do. We offer Express Mail for our U.S. customers. If you place your order before noon Eastern Standard Time, we can send your package out same day for arrival the very next day. International customers please inquire about available expedited shipping options.

Q. Do you ship Truderma internationally? If so, how?

A. Yes we do. To most major countries, we ship USPS Global Priority. This means your order will arrive within about 5 days. We also offer Global Express Guaranteed, which will get to you in 2 - 3 days, but is considerably more expensive.

Questions about Truderma

Q. Exactly how does Truderma work?

A. Truderma has a three-step system, which we feel works far more effectively than any one-step process on the market today. Truderma first cleans and exfoliates the skin, eliminating surface bacteria and dead skin with the Step 1 Cleanser. Then Truderma opens your pores and tones your skin with the Step 2 Toner. Lastly, Truderma delivers medicine specifically designed to kill acne causing bacteria straight to your pores with Step 3 Restoring Cream. Our multi-step process is easy to use and takes less than five minutes a day from start to finish.

Q. How long will it take Truderma to work?

A. Many customers will start to see changes within a week or two. Now that you are using Truderma and starting to kill the acne causing bacteria in your pores, your skin can finally start to heal. Within a month you should expect to see pretty dramatic changes in the intensity and amount of acne you have. If after two weeks, you have not seen significant changes, consider using Truderma twice a day (morning and night) until you can get your acne under control and switch to a lower daily maintenance regime.

Q. How often do you suggest that I use Truderma?

A. For most people, we suggest twice daily use of Truderma. We suggest you apply the system while you shower while your skin is still clean and moist. Some individuals may be sensitive to using Truderma this frequently. If this is the case, cut back to once a day.

Q. What is the best time to use Truderma?

A. Truderma can be used morning and night. We suggest that you use Truderma while you shower or right before you go to bed. Be sure to remember not to wash off Step 2 or Step 3 of the Truderma System or it will not have time to work.

Q. Will Truderma make my acne worse when I start using it?

A. Most people will not experience this but there is a small chance your acne will flare up slightly when you first start using Truderma. This is normal. This may simply be due to acne that was below the skin now erupting. You are waging war with your acne and it's not happy :) Make sure you use Truderma continually during the first two weeks even if you appear to be breaking out a bit more than usual and you should see your breakouts rapidly diminish as you turn the tide against your acne!

Q. Won't Truderma make my bacteria resistant with continual use?

A. No. Unlike antibiotics, which can cause bacteria to become resistant over time, Truderma creates an increased amount of oxygen in your pores. This higher than usual level of oxygen kills the bacteria that cause acne and works in an entirely different way than antibiotics.

Q. My skin becomes red or itchy after I apply Truderma. Is that normal?

A. Some redness is normal, especially when you first start using Truderma. Not everybody who uses Truderma will experience redness or dryness however. Any redness or dryness will generally go away with time or with less intensive use of Truderma. It does take a few days to two weeks for your skin to get accustomed to the ingredients in Truderma and any redness or dryness should subside with time. A very small amount of people are allergic to the ingredients in Truderma and may experience more swelling or redness than they are comfortable with. If this happens, and increasing the time between applications of Truderma fails to help, then Truderma may not be for you.

Q. What does Truderma feel like on your skin?

A. Step 1 feels a bit like soft pumice. It is gritty enough to remove dead skin but not coarse and irritating. Step 2 feels cool and refreshing and Step 3 is like a silky cream.

Q. What does Truderma smell like?

A. Truderma has a pleasant "clean" smell that is difficult to describe with just words. We suggest that you smell it for yourself and if you do not like the smell, you may send it back for a complete refund.

Q. Will Truderma cause wrinkles or premature aging of the skin?

A. No. The primary ingredient in Truderma is actually an anti-inflammatory and is not known to cause aging or wrinkles. Any "wrinkling" present is the result of dryness around the eyes and is not permanent. Avoid getting Truderma in or around your eyes and this problem should resolve on its own.

Q. My acne is all clear after using Truderma. Can I stop using Truderma completely?

A. Unfortunately, there is no cure for acne, only management. Once you are all clear, you may wish to reduce the amount of Truderma you use on a daily basis. Experiment with the minimum amount that works for you but still keeps you clear. You will still likely need to apply Truderma every day.

Q. Truderma is not working for me as well as I had thought. What can I do?

A. You have several options at this point. The first suggestion is to apply more Truderma to your skin, especially the repair agent which is also known as step 3. You may also want to apply Truderma morning and night and avoid going into the water right after applying Truderma so it does not wash off. Lastly, give Truderma some time to work. Results will not appear overnight. Instead you will notice a gradual reduction of acne until you are clear. If all of these fail to work, you may be one of the few who do not respond well to Truderma. We are true to our word and will honor our 60 day money back guarantee.

Q. Is Truderma safe and effective?

A.   Yes, Truderma is very safe and its ingredients have been tested for years.

"Topical benzoyl peroxide (the main ingredient in Truderma) has been used in the treatment of acne for over 30 years, with no reports of adverse effects that could be related to skin carcinogenesis. Two case-control epidemiological studies have found a lack of association between the specific use of benzoyl peroxide and skin cancer. In addition to these findings in humans, 23 carcinogenicity studies in rodents with benzoyl peroxide, including 16 employing topical application, have yielded negative results."
Source: Regulatory Toxicology and Pharmacology, 1995

"Following application to the skin, benzoyl peroxide is rapidly metabolized to benzoic acid, a harmless chemical. Extensive use in human beings has failed to demonstrate absorption. The drug is eminently safe."
Source: Acne and Rosacea: Third Completely Revised and Updated Edition, 2000

"So far no skin malignancies after the clinical use of benzoyl peroxide has been reported. A possible relationship between the use of the compound and the occurrence of malignant melanoma has been looked at in two case-control studies, both with negative results."

Questions about Acne

Q. What can I do about bacne (acne on your back) or chest acne?

A. Acne, while commonly found on the face, is the same kind of acne found on other parts of the body (like the chest or back). Because of this, Truderma works well for acne anywhere on the body. Be careful about wearing colored or dark fabrics over Truderma as Truderma may discolor certain fabrics. White fabrics are ok.

Q. Now that my pimples are gone how do I get rid of the small leftover pink bumps?

A. These bumps are also known as "erythematous macules" and they will fade on their own as the body reabsorbs them. They are not scars and as such they will go away on their own but complete reabsorption may take up to four months. No product on the market is currently able to speed this up. If your acne returns, it will restart this process so it is important to get clear and stay clear. If you are darker skinned, these may appear as a darker patch of skin rather than a pink bump.

Q. Aside from the thin sheen on my skin, why else is having excess oil a problem?

A. Oil plugs pores. When the pores become blocked, bacteria flourishes in such a dark and warm space and this overgrowth leads to acne. (The white pus you see in whiteheads is the body producing white blood cells to kill the bacteria, just like it would if you got a cold). To successfully get rid of acne you should use Truderma regularly to remove the oils and kill the bacteria that cause acne.

Q. Should I pop or squeeze my whiteheads?

A. Generally speaking, no you shouldn't, but most people who do so will not scar and draining the whitehead can help it heal a little faster. The preferred method is to lance them with a sterile needle to avoid traumatizing the surrounding tissue and spreading the bacteria further but this is only suggested if you have the right tools, experience and pronounced whiteheads (rather than ones below the surface). Please note that applying Truderma to bleeding or open acne may sting a bit but will sterilize the area.

Q. Will acne scar my face?

A. This depends. Generally speaking no. Most adolescents will grow up with few to no acne scars, even if they had pretty severe acne before. This is not always the case however. Some people who get acne will get a lot of scarring. It depends on the type of acne you get and what you do about it.

Q. Should I stop eating certain foods that I hear cause acne?

A. Eating chocolate, pizza, or drinking Coca-Cola will not cause acne. French Fries will not cause acne. Of course, you should always eat healthy foods, but the above foods will not make your acne worse on their own. However, if you eat enough junk foods to actually starve your body of the fuel it needs to run properly and as a result your immune system becomes less efficient, then your acne may flare up.

Q. How do I get rid of acne scars?

A. Large or widespread acne scars are best handled by a dermatologist but there are some mildly effective over the counter products such as Mederma. Reducing your acne can cause existing scars to become less pronounced and less red and time of course causes scars to fade. Keep in mind that you need to be acne free to start getting rid of acne scars.

Using Truderma with Other Products

Q. My skin is very oily. What do you suggest to get rid of the oil?

A. The best thing we have found are our special microfiber cloths. Surprisingly enough, microfiber cloths have an actual "molecular affinity" to oil (it attracts it like static) and they are great at absorbing oil and dirt. Our microfiber cloths are silky smooth to the touch and are washable and reuseable. Use them in the morning to clear off any oily sheen. Every order of Truderma comes with a free Oileze Microfiber Cloth.

Q. Can I use a product that contains salicylic acid with Truderma?

A. No. Truderma alone should be enough to get rid of your acne. Using Truderma with additional products that contain salicylic acid will most likely result in your face getting red, dry or start peeling.

Q. Can I use Truderma with other acne products?

A. We do not suggest that you use Truderma with any other product that contains Benzoyl Peroxide or Salicylic Acid because combined those products will have a tendency to dry the skin too much and may increase irritation and redness, particularly just after you apply Truderma.

Q. Truderma contains 2.5% benzoyl peroxide. Why not 5% or even 10%?

A. We feel that 2.5% is the most effective amount of benzoyl peroxide. Using 5% will work exactly the same but will only dry your skin out even more. Using 10% is simply a bad idea, especially on your face, which is a sensitive area.

Q. How can I help moisturize my skin if I am prone to dryness when using Truderma?

A. We suggest simply using a moisturizer, available at any drugstore. You can also try to reduce the frequency of Truderma, but do not reduce it to less than one application a day or Truderma will be ineffective.

Q. Can I use cosmetics with Truderma? If so, what kinds do you suggest?

A. You certainly can but keep these things in mind. People being treated for acne often need to change some of the cosmetics they use. All cosmetics, such as foundation, blush, eye shadow, and moisturizers, should be oil free. Many may find it difficult to apply foundation evenly during the first few weeks of treatment because the skin may be red or scaly, particularly with the use of topical tretinoin or benzoyl peroxide. Oily hair products may eventually spread over the forehead, causing closed comedones (acne). Products that are labeled as noncomedogenic (do not promote the formation of closed pores) should be used; in some people, however, even these products may cause acne.

Q. Is Truderma safe to use with supplements?

A. Strictly speaking, yes but we always suggest you consult with your doctor or health care professional to ensure compatibility. We do strongly suggest you take a multivitamin , such as Vitaplen while you are using Truderma to boost your immune system and ensure that your body has the fuel it needs to run properly.

Q. Is it safe to use Truderma with my prescription medications?

A. This depends on what prescription medication you are taking. As long as the drug is not an acne product, it should GENERALLY be safe to take but only your doctor or health care professional can be 100% sure so please exercise common sense and consult with your doctor to make sure. Using topical prescription acne products with Truderma is generally a bad idea as it will likely make your skin incredibly dry or irritated. Most acne drugs are very powerful and are dosed to work by themselves. In short - they usually don't play nicely with other acne products. Our opinion on Accutane is to avoid it like the plague due to the published reports of suicide and depression associated with it. Lawyers are currently taking cases to court over the side effects of this drug. We suggest you avoid it unless it is a last resort and you and your doctor are well informed of all of the risks associated with this drug.

Lifestyle Questions

Q. Can I shower after I use Truderma?

A. Yes you can. However we suggest you wait at least an hour after applying step 3 before you get your face significantly wet. What we suggest is applying step 1 in the shower, washing it off and removing the dead skin and oils and then when you get out of the shower, apply step 2 and 3.

Q. Can I go swimming after I use Truderma?

A. Yes you can. However we suggest you wait at least an hour after applying step 3 before you get your face significantly wet. Consider applying Truderma at night if you swim in the early morning or visa versa.
